URBAN RANGERS PROGRAMME
This is a curriculum-based outdoor learning programme for Secondary Schools and young adults that runs throughout an entire academic year. Throughout their time on the programme, children will increase their physical agility, develop new problem-solving skills, and experiment with communication skills that are essential to modern-day teams. The programme helps develop teamwork, leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills while building character, confidence and self-awareness in the natural environment.
The Urban Rangers is a curriculum-based outdoor learning programme for children aged 6-years-old to 16-years-old. Through an academic year of six 4- or 5-week sessions, children will increase their physical agility, develop new problem-solving skills, and experiment with communication skills that are essential to modern-day teams.
The key to our success, is the intensity of the support we provide. We limit our session to no more than 6 children per instructor to be sure that every child feels like they matter. And then we design bespoke coaching for each child to make sure that in a safe, encouraging environment, they improve where they need to: self-control, concentration, confidence. teamwork, and even, humility. Sessions are targeted to age groups. Following the completion of the 5-week course, tan optional outdoor overnight is offered.
The program is split into four half-hour segments. Each segment concentrates on a particular area for development: physical, mental or social. For the introduction, we will start with a physical activity because it helps build cohesion and bond as a team. It’s also a great equalising activity because you compete against yourself. Then we move into a problem solving activity to encourage both individual and group resilience. The third segment is about learning new skills and allowing them to make something to take away. Finally, we end with a fun, social event.
